We're often asked if group counselling is a substitute for one to one counselling or therapy

    The short answer is No...

In all forms of one to one counselling or therapy the therapist focusses exclusively on you issues in order to effect change for the better

In group counselling each member relates to each other member of the group (indeed the great Carl Rogers often said he tended toward relating to the group as a whole rather than individual members)

For all the souls involved with chat-therapy, therapeutically, creatively, or you just read and enjoy. You! Are a part of this ongoing journey.

It's not important where we are going, but to enjoy the journey and make the most of it as it happens. Emotion, Feeling, Sharing and Belief are the important factors on this trip, and these factors are the key to the momentum of the journey.

We are all born into a matrix, a set of circumstances, that allows or encourages development, or growth.

Our lives follow similar patterns and routines. This is the Material world, governed by our elders, parents and society.

But there is another world, the Immateria. In this world we can all be strong and reach our individual potential. It is the world of our own minds, without influence from others. Our inner conflicts that bring us to counselling stem from this duality.

If people can be educated to see the lowly side of their own natures, it may be hoped that they will also learn to understand and to love their fellow men better. A little less hypocrisy and a little more tolerance towards oneself can only have good results in respect for our neighbor; for we are all too prone to transfer to our fellows the injustice and violence we inflict upon our own natures.

You probably service your car at regular intervals to look after it, and to prevent a breakdown

chat-therapy isn't just about tackling the issues you're aware of - it's just as much about tackling the deeply ingrained issues you're not aware of
